May 19 Starflower (Trientalis borealis)
is another very common and widespread wildflower in our woods.
Since I've been paying more attention to the sequence of blooms
this year, I notice that the little white starflowers will take the
place of the little white goldthread blossoms on the floor of the
woods.
The leaves are whorled around the stem making a circle
about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. The flowers are about 3/4 inch
across. |
