Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting  Town of Sweden

March 11, 2008

 

Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance by Selectmen Harris at 7:02. Minutes of the March 4 meeting and the Informational meeting March 8 were

approved. Warrants were approved.

 

DJ Curtis stated that if the voters vote to exceed LD 1, further appropriations can be made at a duly called subsequent special town

meeting. Further discussion concerned which documents should be made available at the town meeting. Discussion of a subsequent informational meeting for the

Fire Station would depend on reports from the committee and it is assumed that this would be at the end of April.

No new information from the Budget Committee.

No new information about the Knights Hill Road Compliance issue.

Officers to be elected at the Town meeting include 1 Selectman, Overseer of the Poor, Assessor, 1 Clerk, Registrar of Voters, 1 Treasurer, Tax collector,

Excise Tax Collector, 1 Planning Board member, 2 Planning Board alternates, 1 Appeals Board member, 2 Appeals Board alternates, 1 S.A.D. # 72 alternate

Board Member, 1 Cemetery Sexton and other necessary officers. Jane Gibbons raised the question about appointment of a deputy Animal Control officer.

Meryl Molloy 925-1181, 252 West Lovell Road, Lovell 04051 was approved as Deputy Animal Control Officer.

Appointments were approved for Carroll Murphy as Deputy EMA Director, Constables C. Wayne Miller, Frances Flint and Bobbi Silcott, Alternate S.A.D.

# 72 Board Member Wendy Slattery, Code Enforcement Officer Eric Gulbrandsen, Fire Station Building Committee “ Wolfgang Duve, Julie McQueen, Patrick Wood,

Bill Morrisseau, John Smith, and C. Wayne Miller, Fire Warden and Fire Chief, EMA Director, and Public Safety Officer.

J. Gibbons reported that dog license fees had been paid by two residents. Phone numbers and addresses were confirmed for Lori Bennett and David Lefler.
